Louisiana's Best Deep South Fishing Adventure
2. Fishing stories that don't get old
1. More fish than you can eat

Your trip starts at safe light from the dock of Joe's Landing in Lafitte. A powerful, 200 hp Yamaha propels the 22' Team Avenger quickly to one fishing spot after another. Along the way, Ripp shares some of the folklore and history of the people, pirates and Cajuns who have lived here over the last 250 years. |

![]() Ripp is a lifelong resident of Lafitte, Louisiana. Just 45 minutes drive from downtown New Orleans, this bayou town was the headquarters of 18th Century pirate Jean Lafitte, who was instrumental in the defeat of the British in the Battle of New Orleans. Known as the Barataria Basin, the region is a maze of waterways that connects the Mississippi River to the Gulf of Mexico. In between are marshes, swamps, ponds and canals teeming with sealife which feed and spawn in these nutrient rich waters. |
Ripp
specializes in fishing Speckled Trout & Redfish using light tackle.
With him at your side, it won't be long before you too experience the
addictive adrenaline rush caused by wrestling these spunky sport fish
into the boat. Even after you get home, you'll still marvel at it all.
The only thing you need to do in preparation for all the fun is to dress casually and comfortably, relax, and bring an ice chest with what you like to eat and drink. Make sure it's a big ice chest because all fish caught are yours...and Ripp expertly cleans, filets, and bags your catch too. |
